My name is Allison and I am an experiential artist and designer based in Brooklyn. I currently live with Bushwick with my husband and our two cats. I've learned a few things over the last 8 years in NYC: wash your hands after riding the subway, say hello to strangers, laugh when you're feeling down, and never stop exploring.
As a Creative Director at Mirrorball, Allison leads a team of designers focused on developing strategic and culturally relevant creative solutions for some of the world’s largest brands. Her primary objective is to look beyond the brief, and dig deep to find creative solutions that will help brands reach their fullest potential. “Millennials don’t trust brands,” she says, “so we have to create concepts that align with the emotional objectives of their core consumers.”
After earning a BFA in Communications Design from Syracuse, Allison landed her first gig at Turner Duckworth in San Francisco where she worked on Coca-Cola, PopChips, and Sprite. With a desire to be at the center of the creative universe, Allison made her way to New York City. There, she worked at MTV and Saatchi & Saatchi. Through freelance clients she developed a friendship with Gregory Zamfotis, who tapped her to design the brand identity and retail experience of his then-emerging NYC-based coffee emporia. Gregorys Coffee now includes 17 stores and counting.
When Allison was offered a leadership role at Mirrorball it was a natural step forward. “Agencies brag about the great things they do, but rarely do those ideas actually come to fruition,” she says. “We push the envelope at Mirrorball. One day there’s a dozen drag queens walking through the halls for Perrier; another, we’re assembling a nine foot tall Yeti on the roof. The creativity is contagious and no idea is off limits.”
